The World Green Organisation has launched the “Energy Saving and Waste Reduction Pilot Scheme for the Catering Industry,” inviting local restaurants to participate in the “Waste Reduction Charter.” Participating restaurants that encourage customers to opt out of receiving disposable utensils when ordering takeout will receive a $1 rebate for both the restaurant and the customer. Additionally, these restaurants can be certified as waste reduction establishments.
