Bring Your Own Containers (BYOC) Eateries

Details
To encourage eateries to welcome the public to bring their own containers or use reusable container lending services when ordering takeaways, and facilitate the public to identify and access such waste-reducing eateries to reduce the use of disposable plastic containers and other disposable containers for takeaway meals, the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) and the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) launched the Ā“Bring Your Own Containers (BYOC) EateriesĀ” Scheme in September 2023. Enrolment for the Scheme is accepted all year round and free of charge.

  • Application qualification: All eateries that have satisfied the specified requirement and completed the online enrolment forms are eligible to enrol in the ā€œBYOC Eateriesā€ Scheme. Eateries are required to satisfy the following waste-reducing requirement(s): Welcome customers to bring their own containers (including food containers or beverage cups); or Provide reusable container lending services
